Hulu is Producing a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The newest Far Cry title that players dived into was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in chaos and madness with similar glee, all while telling engaging, ideologically themed tales. No wonder then that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two visionaries whose projects have represented all of those things.

Show Details

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game property, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' structure by having a fresh backdrop and group of personalities in each season.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their constant confidence and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone program. Every title is a interpretation of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can shift from season to season, while always examining the core of people through this multifaceted and turbulent lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and bring our common unconventional, daring style to the television.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
